Model Locomotives
This section of the gallery is to showcase model locomotives built by the members of the Pioneer Modern Traction Group.
The photographs below are of locomotives built by Derek Payne. The LMS 10000 & 10001 section in the Members Projects details the principles used by Derek for producing his very accurate and detailed models. His interest in pioneer modern traction extends to North America and the pictures of the F7 units are taken at tracks in Europe where he is a regular visitor with his models.

Whilst the introductuion to the Pioneer Modern Traction Group makes reference to British Railways and to the timescale 1931-1969, the group is not limited to locomotives and rolling stock of British origins and operation.
The interest of members therefore extends to pioneer modern traction from all over the world. Railways throughout the world underwent a transition from steam to diesels, and the time period of dieselisation in North America, Australia, South Africa and many other countries differed from that of the UK.
Derek's interest in North American and European locomotives is complimented by another members' interest in diesel locomotives of the Ghana Railway Corporation.
